Damn Fine Design

Flip Flops - Jandals, Thongs, Slip slops, Go-aheads - no matter what you call them...The best footwear ever created hands down!

The Bicycle - c'mon folks... 2 wheels, wind in your hair and freedom for 5 to 95 year olds. Withstanding the true test of great design...timelessness. Nuff said.

Volkswagen Type 2 - also know as the transporter or bus...the ideal blend of form, function, and shear aesthetic beauty. My favorite being a 1961 Kombi...I may be a little impartial as I was a very proud owner of "Gertrude", my trustworthy and beautiful Dove Blue and white girl. Painfully restored from the grasps of father time. Always have had an affinity towards all things volkswagen...my first automobile being a '64 Ruby Red crank sunroof Beetle.

Ipod - An entire lifetime of music digitally crammed into 4" x 2" portability...actually just about everything that comes from Apple's design facility is the top of the heap in our opinion.

Acoustic Guitar - with apologies to the oboe and the flugelhorn...it goes without saying...they're just not the same around the campfire or at the local coffeehouse.

Eames Lounge and Ottoman - Not Damn Fine Affordability...at $3700...a hefty sum to spend on a piece of furniture, although when you look at it as an art piece, pretty reasonable for a piece of authentic american design history. Truly a great representation of classic modern American design. Charles and Ray Eames (not brothers...Ray-Bernice is the spouse of Charles) are responsible for many classic, iconic designs of the 20th century.

The Bikini - for its lack of fabric…you can thank the French for designing those two little pieces of fabric and naming them after a nuclear testing sight in the pacific, Bikini Atoll, implying the when a man would catch a glimpse of a women in a bikini a nuclear explosion would go off inside him.

Futura - This is nerdy graphic design stuff...but Futura was a monumental typeface that was influenced by elements of the Bauhuas. It inspired many other typefaces currently in use today...Ikea has it's own font developed based on Futura. Adrian Frutiger one of the godfathers of modern typography sites Futura as one of his inspirations. You know...Futura is the typeface that was used on the plaque that was left on the moon in 1969 for all of the known universe to read. "If you don't know, now you know...!" as rapped by Busta Rhymes.

Fly Rod - For us the mere thought of a fly rod embodies the idea pure design function. Beautiful rivers, lush forests, and an escape to something wonderful, all come to mind when you see one. They are a tool of simplicity and rhythm that you can use to truly find yourself. Nothing compares the rush you feel when you get a strike, and the stoke you feel when you land a fish.

Mad Pad - Gramicci boulderers love this Mad Rock crash pad! With 5" of foam, there's no bottoming out. But that's not the best part-- With heavy-duty velcro strips and flaps, you can connect multiple Mad Pads together for a bomb-proof landing. And when the sending is done, the extra long straps on the top and bottom of this pad, turn it into an ultra comfy lounge chair. Ahhh....
